Over two Decades within our community
It started with a few local farmers trying to sell local produce to local people at a roadside market out the back of their Vehicles. Now the Daajing Giids Farmers’ Market here on Haida Gwaii now operates year-round. No matter the weather, a hot lunch is always available alongside farm-grown produce, fresh sourdough bread, homemade preserves, eggs baking sewn and needle work items and much more.
The DG Market starts in April and will run until the end of November. Some vendors may be available outside of the regular dates, weather dependant. Contact Information: email daajinggiidsmarket@gmail.com or find us at “Daajing Giids Farmers’ Market” on Facebook.
There are also Indoor Markets during fall and winter .
Current Market Fees
Vendor Space Annual $120
Vendor Drop-in day rate $20
Vendor Drop-in Day rate for Kids $5
Food Truck/Self Contained annual rate $150
Food Truck/Self Contained Drop-in Day rate $25
Fees will be collected at the end of May for annual vendors. Drop-in vendors will pay each time until they meet the annual vendor rate.
INFORMATION RE: DG FARMERS MARKET
The DG Farmers Market is a Stand-alone market and is not associated to the Daajing Giids Community Hall Society. For the purposes of adherence to the BC Farmers Market Association, this market works with most island markets to reduce our advertising and give more potential funding when required.
The DG Farmers Market rents the facility from the Daajing Giids Community Hall Society and as such will share with non-farmers market vendors when space is available.
